विमान सूर्यचन्द्रा भं दिव्यं समधिगच्छति । जातरूपमयं युक्त सर्वरत्नसमन्वितम्,वह सूर्य और चन्द्रमाके समान प्रकाशित, सम्पूर्ण रत्नोंसे विभूषित तथा आवश्यक सामग्रियोंसे युक्त सुवर्णमय दिव्य विमान प्राप्त करता है
vimānaṃ sūryacandrābhaṃ divyaṃ samadhigacchati | jātarūpamayaṃ yuktaṃ sarvaratnasamanvitam ||
Bhīṣma says that such a person attains a divine aerial car—radiant like the sun and the moon—made of gold, properly equipped, and adorned with every kind of jewel. In ethical terms, the verse presents heavenly attainment as the fruit of meritorious conduct, portraying reward not as mere luxury but as a visible sign of dharma’s auspicious results.
भीष्म उवाच
Dharma and meritorious conduct yield auspicious results; the verse depicts a heavenly reward—an effulgent, jewel-adorned golden vimāna—as a symbolic outcome of accumulated puṇya.
In Bhīṣma’s instruction, he describes the kind of celestial attainment granted to a deserving person: the recipient ‘attains’ a divine vehicle radiant like the sun and moon, golden, well-appointed, and ornamented with all jewels.
