Bhishma said: Endowed with enjoyments, he shines by his own splendor, spotless like the thousand-rayed sun. Delicate, radiant maidens delight in him; and seated with him in a divine aerial car that grants every desired pleasure, they provide him joyous recreation for a hundred myriads of kalpas.
भीष्म उवाच
The verse presents the karmic fruit of dharmic merit as luminous, refined enjoyment in a celestial setting. It implicitly distinguishes such reward (bhoga) from the highest goal, reminding the listener that pleasure is a consequence of merit but not necessarily liberation beyond desire.
Bhishma describes a meritorious person in the afterlife: he shines like the spotless sun and is accompanied by radiant maidens while traveling in a divine, wish-fulfilling vimana, enjoying prolonged celestial delight measured in vast cosmic time (kalpas).
