(य इमं शृणुयान्नित्यं यश्चापि परिकीर्तयेत्‌ स शुभानू प्राप्तुते लोकान्‌ सदाचारव्रतान्नूप ।।) नरेश्वर! जो प्रतिदिन इस प्रसंगको सुनता और कहता है, वह सदाचार-व्रतके प्रभावसे शुभ लोकोंमें जाता है ।। इति श्रीमहाभारते अनुशासनपर्वणि दानधर्मपर्वणि आयुष्याख्याने चतुरधिकशततमो<ध्याय:

ya imaṁ śṛṇuyān nityaṁ yaś cāpi parikīrtayet | sa śubhān prāpnute lokān sadācāra-vratān nṛpa ||

Bhishma said: “O king, whoever listens to this account daily, and whoever also recites it aloud, attains auspicious worlds through the power of vows grounded in good conduct.”
