अक्रोधन: सत्यवादी भूतानामविहिंसक: । अनसूयुरजिद्दाश्व शतं वर्षाणि जीवति,जो क्रोधहीन, सत्यवादी, किसी भी प्राणीकी हिंसा न करनेवाला, अदोषदर्शी और कपटशून्य है, वह सौ वर्षोतक जीवित रहता है सायंप्रातश्व भूज्जीत नानतराले समाहित: । वालेन तु न भुज्जीत परश्राद्धं तथैव च

Bhīṣma said: He who is free from anger, speaks truth, harms no living being, is without fault-finding, and is devoid of deceit—such a man lives for a hundred years. Let him eat in the evening and in the morning with a collected mind, not in between; and let him not partake of another’s śrāddha offering as well.
