Vaiśampāyana said: “On this earth, apart from you, there exists no other who could be the begetter of those (Vasus). Likewise, in this world there is no other human woman like me who could bear them in the womb.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse conveys that certain births are portrayed as divinely ordained and exceptional: only a uniquely fit father and a uniquely capable mother can bring forth extraordinary beings. It highlights destiny and the moral-spiritual uniqueness associated with sacred lineage.
In Vaiśampāyana’s narration, a speaker emphasizes that no one other than the addressed person could father the Vasus, and that no other human woman like herself could carry them—framing the forthcoming birth as singular and fated.
