Kāśī princesses taken; encounter with Śālva; Ambā’s declaration
नकुलस्तु चैद्यां करेणुमतीं नाम भार्यामुदावहत् । तस्यां पुत्र निरमित्रं नामाजनयत्,नकुलने चेदिनरेशकी पुत्री करेणुमतीको पत्नीरूपमें प्राप्त किया और उसके गर्भसे निरमित्र नामक पुत्रको जन्म दिया
nakulas tu caidyāṁ kareṇumatīṁ nāma bhāryām udāvahat | tasyāṁ putraṁ niramitraṁ nāma ajījanat |
Vaiśampāyana said: Nakula married a Cedi princess named Kareṇumatī. From her he begot a son named Niramitra.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores gṛhastha-dharma and dynastic responsibility: a rightful marriage alliance and the begetting of offspring are presented as integral to sustaining lineage and social order among royal houses.
Vaiśampāyana continues the genealogical account by stating that Nakula married Kareṇumatī, a princess of Cedi, and that they had a son named Niramitra.
