अध्याय ९५: चित्राङ्गदस्य गन्धर्वेण सह संग्रामः तथा विचित्रवीर्यस्य राज्याभिषेकः

Chitrāṅgada’s duel with the Gandharva and Vicitravīrya’s consecration

दुष्यन्ताद्‌ भरतो जज्ञे विद्वाञउ्छाकुन्तलो नृप: । तस्माद्‌ भरतवंशस्य विप्रतस्थे महद्‌ यश:,दुष्यन्तसे विद्वान्‌ राजा भरतका जन्म हुआ, जो शकुन्तलाके पुत्र थे। उन्हींसे भरतवंशका महान्‌ यश फैला

Duṣyantād Bharato jajñe vidvān Śākuntalo nṛpaḥ | tasmād Bharatavaṃśasya vipratasthe mahad yaśaḥ ||

Vaiśampāyana said: From Duṣyanta was born Bharata, the wise king, the son of Śakuntalā. From him the great fame of the Bharata lineage spread far and wide.
