Vaiśampāyana said: Having spoken thus, the illustrious Śukrācārya—an immeasurable power, a veritable treasury among the treasuries of ascetic merit—summoned those Dānavas whose understanding had been deluded by fate, and addressed them with these words.

Educational Q&A

When intellect is obscured by daiva (destiny or overpowering circumstance), a community needs the corrective of wise counsel. The verse elevates tapas and disciplined wisdom as a stabilizing authority that can reorient deluded judgment toward prudent action.

After finishing a prior statement, Śukrācārya calls the Dānavas together—described as having their minds deluded by fate—and begins to address them, setting up the next instructions or warning that follows in the subsequent verses.
