Vaiśampāyana said: “From that Manu were born human beings beginning with the Brahmins and Kshatriyas. And from that time onward, O great king, the Brahmanical line became allied with the Kshatriya line. O sinless one, I shall recount to you a lineage that is blessed, fame-bearing, and life-prolonging.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse frames genealogy as ethically and ritually meaningful: hearing the account of righteous lineages is described as auspicious, conferring merit such as fame and longevity, and it emphasizes the foundational social order traced back to Manu.
Vaiśampāyana addresses King Janamejaya and signals a transition into dynastic genealogy, stating that humanity and the social orders originate from Manu and noting an early alliance/connection between Brahmanical and Kshatriya lines.
