Vaiśampāyana said: Then the lord of the earth rode in a chariot swift as Garuḍa. As he sped along, the rumbling of its motion made the earth resound and seemed to echo even up to the heavens—signaling the king’s power and purposeful advance as he moved through the world in search of what fate would place before him.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ideal of royal energy and purposeful movement: a king’s resolve and capacity to act should be strong enough to ‘make the world resound,’ yet directed toward rightful aims within dharma.
Vaiśampāyana describes the king traveling in a chariot compared to Garuḍa for its speed; its thunderous sound seems to fill the earth and reach the heavens, emphasizing the grandeur of the king’s progress.
