Vaiśampāyana said: O king, suitable marriages were arranged for all of them. And when the proper time came, O ruler, the Kaurava gave his sister Duḥśalā in marriage to the king of Sindhu.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the royal ideal of arranging ‘anurūpa’ (befitting) marriages, reflecting social and political dharma: alliances are formed through marriage in ways considered appropriate to lineage and circumstance.
Vaiśampāyana reports that marriages were arranged for the Kuru family, and specifically that Duḥśalā, sister of the Kaurava (Duryodhana), was given in marriage to the king of Sindhu, Jayadratha, establishing a political alliance.
