योगसक्ता जगत्‌ कृत्स्नमसक्ता विचचार ह । प्रभासस्य तु भार्या सा वसूनामष्टमस्य ह,देवल नामक सुप्रसिद्ध मुनिको प्रत्यूषका पुत्र माना जाता है। देवलके भी दो पुत्र हुए। वे दोनों ही क्षमावान्‌ और मनीषी थे। बृहस्पतिकी बहिन स्त्रियोंमें श्रेष्ठ एवं ब्रह्मवादिनी थीं। वे योगमें तत्पर हो सम्पूर्ण जगत्‌में अनासक्त भावसे विचरती रहीं। वे ही वसुओंमें आठवें वसु प्रभासकी धर्मपत्नी थीं

yogasaktā jagat kṛtsnam asaktā vicacāra ha | prabhāsasya tu bhāryā sā vasūnām aṣṭamasya ha ||

Vaiśampāyana said: Absorbed in yoga, yet free from attachment, she wandered through the entire world. She was the lawful wife of Prabhāsa, the eighth among the Vasus—renowned for spiritual insight and disciplined conduct, moving everywhere without clinging, embodying the ethical ideal of inner detachment amid worldly movement.
