Tapovana-praveśaḥ — The King’s Entry into the Sacred Grove and Vision of the Āśrama

त्रासयन्तो5भिनिध्नन्तः सर्वभूतगणांश्न ते । विचेरु: सर्वशो राजन्‌ महीं शतसहसत्रश:,राजन! वे असुर लाखोंकी संख्यामें उत्पन्न हुए थे और समस्त प्राणियोंको डराते- धमकाते तथा उनकी हिंसा करते हुए भूमण्डलमें सब ओर घूमते रहते थे

Transliteration

trāsayanto 'bhinighnantaḥ sarvabhūtagāṇāṃś ca te | viceruḥ sarvaśo rājan mahīṃ śatasahasraśaḥ ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana said: O King, those beings roamed everywhere across the earth in hundreds of thousands, terrifying all groups of living creatures and striking them down. Their conduct was marked by intimidation and violence, spreading fear and disorder among beings.
