Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that when political power (kṣatra) is exercised in alignment with dharma, it produces public welfare: social groups can perform their duties without fear, leading to collective prosperity and contentment.

Vaiśampāyana describes a restoration of righteous kṣatriya शासन: once the earth is governed again according to dharma, the brāhmaṇas and the other varṇas feel great relief and happiness, indicating a return to stability and proper order.
