King Duḥṣanta’s Entry into the Forest Hunt
जवं परममास्थाय प्रदुद्राव विहंगम: । तमपश्यदथायान्तं श्येनं श्येनस्तथापर:,वह आकाशबचारी पक्षी सर्वोत्तम वेगका आश्रय ले उड़ा जा रहा था, इतनेहीमें एक दूसरे बाजने उसे आते देखा
javaṁ paramam āsthāya pradudrāva vihaṅgamaḥ | tam apaśyad athāyāntaṁ śyenaṁ śyenas tathāparaḥ ||
Vaiśampāyana said: Having gathered the utmost speed, the bird darted away through the sky. Just then another hawk saw that hawk approaching.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights a natural ethic of alertness and consequence: speed and strength invite counter-force, and in a world of competing powers, one must act with awareness of pursuit and response.
A bird speeds away at full pace; immediately, another hawk notices a hawk approaching—setting up a chase or confrontation among swift aerial predators.
