Ādi-parva Adhyāya 33: Vāsuki’s Council on Averting the Sarpa-satra
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्ोा भारत आदिपव॑के अन्तर्गत आस्तीकपवरमें गरुडचरित्रविषयक बत्तीसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ
Iti prakāraḥ Śrīmahābhārata Ādiparvaṇi antar-gata Āstīkaparvaṇi Garuḍa-caritra-viṣayakaḥ dvātriṃśattamo 'dhyāyaḥ pūrṇaḥ.
Thus ends the thirty-second chapter of the Āstīka section within the Ādi Parva of the revered Mahābhārata, dealing with the narrative of Garuḍa. (This is a colophon marking the completion of the chapter.)
शौनक उवाच
This line is a colophon rather than a doctrinal verse; its function is to mark textual completion and preserve the work’s organization. Indirectly, it highlights the Mahābhārata’s careful framing of narratives (here, Garuḍa’s deeds) within larger ethical-historical contexts (the Āstīka section).
No new narrative event occurs here. The text simply announces that the chapter concerning Garuḍa’s story, within the Āstīka section of the Ādi Parva, has concluded.
