तच्छुत्वा विबुधा वाक्‍्यं विस्मिता यत्नमास्थिता: । परिवार्यामृतं तस्थुर्वज्नी चेन्द्र: प्रतापवान्‌,इन्द्रकी यह बात सुनकर देवता बड़े आश्वर्यमें पड़ गये और यत्नपूर्वक अमृतको चारों ओरसे घेरकर खड़े हो गये। प्रतापी इन्द्र भी हाथमें वज् लेकर वहाँ डट गये

tac chrutvā vibudhā vākyam vismitā yatnam āsthitāḥ | parivāryāmṛtaṃ tasthur vajrī cendraḥ pratāpavān ||

Hearing those words, the gods were struck with astonishment. With vigilant effort they stood surrounding the nectar on every side; and mighty Indra too, bearer of the thunderbolt, took his stand there, ready to defend it.
