Having located that mountain with the vast cavern-like belly, the mighty bird Garuḍa fixed it as his destination and, with great speed, flew toward it—still bearing along with him the tree-branch, the elephant, and the tortoise.

Educational Q&A

Determination and power must be guided by ethical awareness: even when pursuing a rightful goal, one should consider the risks imposed on others by one’s haste and the burdens one carries.

Kaśyapa describes Garuḍa, having identified a large hollow-bellied mountain, flying rapidly toward it while still carrying a tree-branch along with an elephant and a tortoise.
