Vaiśampāyana said: Thus, when the great-souled Fire-god Pāvaka had duly granted them permission, Arjuna and Vāsudeva (Kṛṣṇa), and likewise the Dānava Maya—O best of the Bharatas—circumambulated him in reverence. Then all three went to the delightful bank of the river Yamunā and sat together.

Educational Q&A

Even heroic figures act within dharmic restraint: they seek authorization, honor the divine through respectful circumambulation, and proceed without arrogance—showing that power should be guided by propriety and reverence.

After receiving Agni’s permission, Arjuna, Kṛṣṇa (Vāsudeva), and Maya circumambulate Agni respectfully, then go together to the pleasant bank of the Yamunā and sit down, marking a calm transition after the divine interaction.
