Educational Q&A

Legitimate authority is portrayed as arising from inner vision (ṛṣi-hood) and ethical guardianship. The verse links spiritual insight with the duty to protect and guide living beings, symbolized by ‘lord of birds’ (patageśvara).

A group of gods address and praise a revered figure, identifying him as a seer, an illustrious/divine being, and the sovereign of birds. Their words function as recognition of his status and power before the next narrative development.
