पुत्रान् प्रति वदन् भीतो लोकपालं महौजसम् । अग्निदेवके संकल्पको जानकर और अपने पुत्रोंकी बाल्यावस्थाका विचार करके ब्रह्मर्षि मन्दपाल भयभीत होकर महातेजस्वी लोकपाल अग्निसे अपने पुत्रोंकी रक्षाके लिये निवेदन करते हुए (ईश्वरकी भाँति) उनकी स्तुति करने लगे
Translation
Vaiśampāyana said: Knowing the resolve of Agnideva, and considering the tender age of his sons, the brahmarṣi Māṇḍapāla was struck with fear; and, beseeching the mighty Lokapāla Agni to protect his children, he began to praise him as one would hymn the Lord.
