इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत आदिपव॑कके अन्तर्गत खाण्डवदाहपर्वमें देवताओंके साथ श्रीकृष्ण और जर्जुनके युद्धसे सम्बन्ध रखनेवाला दो सौ छब्बीसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ,क्रोधामर्षोँ समुत्सृज्य सम्प्रतस्थे दिवं तदा । यह आकाशवाणी सुनकर देवराज इन्द्रने इसे ही सत्य माना और क्रोध तथा अमर्ष छोड़कर वे उसी समय स्वर्गलोकको लौट गये
krodhāmarṣau samutsṛjya sampratasthe divaṃ tadā | iti śrīmahābhārate ādiparvaṇi khāṇḍavadāhapārvaṇi devaiḥ saha śrīkṛṣṇārjunayor yuddhasaṃbandhī dviśataṣaḍviṃśatitamodhyāyaḥ samāptaḥ |
Casting aside anger and wounded pride, Indra then set out for heaven. Hearing the heavenly proclamation, the lord of the gods accepted it as true; relinquishing wrath and resentment, he returned at once to the celestial world. Thus ends the two-hundred-and-twenty-sixth chapter of the Khāṇḍava-burning episode within the Ādi Parva of the Mahābhārata, concerning the conflict of Śrī Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna in connection with the gods.
