Tīrtha-Sevana and the Cursed Apsaras
Grāha-Encounter at Saubhadra Tīrtha
एकशीलसमाचारी द्विधैवैको5भवत् कृत: । तौ विवृद्धौ महावीर्यो कार्येष्वप्येकनिश्चयौं,उनके शील और आचरण एक-से थे, मानो एक ही जीवात्मा दो शरीरोंमें विभक्त कर दिया गया हो। वे महापराक्रमी दैत्य साथ-साथ बढ़ने लगे। वे प्रत्येक कार्यमें एक ही निश्चयपर पहुँचते थे
ekaśīlasamācārī dvidhaivāiko 'bhavat kṛtaḥ | tau vivṛddhau mahāvīryau kāryeṣv apy ekaniścayau ||
Nārada said: Their disposition and conduct were identical, as though a single being had been divided into two bodies. Those mighty, heroic daityas grew up together, and even in their undertakings they arrived at one and the same resolve.
नारद उवाच
The verse underscores how shared character (śīla) and disciplined conduct (samācāra) produce unity of intention (eka-niścaya). Ethical formation shapes collective action: when two persons are alike in values and habits, they tend to decide and act as one.
Nārada describes two powerful daityas who are so alike in nature and behavior that they seem like one being split into two bodies. They grow up together and consistently reach the same decisions in their endeavors.
