तयोस्तप:प्रभावेण दीर्घकालं प्रतापित: । धूम॑ प्रमुमुचे विन्ध्यस्तदद्भुतमिवाभवत्‌,उन दैत्योंकी तपस्याके प्रभावसे दीर्घकालतक संतप्त होनेके कारण विन्ध्य पर्वत धुआँ छोड़ने लगा, यह एक अद्भुत-सी बात हुई

tayos tapaḥ-prabhāveṇa dīrgha-kālaṁ pratāpitaḥ | dhūmaṁ pramumuce vindhyas tad adbhutam ivābhavat |

Nārada said: Scorched for a long time by the force of those two Daityas’ austerities, the Vindhya mountain began to emit smoke; it seemed a wondrous and ominous sign.
