समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः
Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī
अर्जुनस्याभिगमनं पर्व ज्ञेयमत: परम् | ईश्वरार्जुनयोर्युद्धे पर्व कैरातसंज्ञितम्,इसके बाद अर्जुनाभिगमनपर्व जानना चाहिये और फिर कैरातपर्व आता है, जिसमें सर्वेश्वर भगवान् शिव तथा अर्जुनके युद्धका वर्णन है
arjunasya abhigamanaṁ parva jñeyam ataḥ param | īśvarārjunayor yuddhe parva kairātasaṁjñitam |
After this, one should understand the section called the “Arjuna’s Approach” episode; and thereafter comes the chapter known as the “Kirāta” episode, in which the combat between the Supreme Lord Śiva and Arjuna is described. The sequence highlights how a seeker’s deliberate approach and disciplined striving are tested, and how divine encounter may come in the form of challenge before grace is granted.
