Here is described the burning of the lac-house (Jatugṛha). After that comes the episode called the Haiḍimba Parva; then the slaying of Baka; and thereafter the Caitraratha Parva.
राम उवाच
The verse underscores an ethical arc in the epic’s early narrative: threats born of deceit and violence (the lac-house plot) are followed by episodes where strength is used to remove danger (Haiḍimba and Baka), emphasizing protection, courage, and the restoration of social safety as dharmic priorities.
This is a sectional summary listing the sequence of upcoming/adjacent parvas: the burning of the lac-house (Jatugṛha-dāha), then the Haiḍimba episode, then the slaying of Baka, and finally the Caitraratha episode.
