समन्तपञ्चक-आख्यानम् तथा अक्षौहिणी-प्रमाणनिर्णयः
Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī
नियुक्तो भीमसेन श्व द्रौपद्या गन्धमादने । व्रजन् पथि महाबाहुर्दृष्टटान् पवनात्मजम्,द्रौपदीने सौगन्धिक कमल लानेके लिये भीमसेनको गन्धमादन पर्वतपर भेजा। यात्रा करते समय महाबाहु भीमसेनने मार्गमें कदलीवनमें महाबली पवननन्दन श्रीहनुमानजीका दर्शन किया। यहीं सौगन्धिक कमलके लिये भीमसेनने सरोवरमें घुसकर उसे मथ डाला
niyukto bhīmasenaḥ śvaḥ draupadyā gandhamādane | vrajan pathi mahābāhur dṛṣṭavān pavanātmajam ||
At Draupadī’s request, Bhīmasena was dispatched for the next day to Mount Gandhamādana to obtain the fragrant saugandhika lotuses. As the mighty-armed hero set out on the way, he beheld Hanumān, the son of the Wind-god. The episode frames Bhīma’s strength within restraint and reverence: even a powerful warrior is reminded to temper force with humility, and to honor elders and divine kin before pursuing desire or prideful conquest.
