Educational Q&A

Divine power and authority (symbolized by astras) are bestowed after a proving ground: one must endure testing, recognize the divine presence even in disguised forms, and demonstrate self-control, courage, and devotion; then grace follows.

The speaker (Rāma) summarizes a sequence of events: a combat occurred with Śiva appearing as a Kirāta; afterward there was an audience/vision of the Lokapālas; and finally the acquisition of divine weapons took place.
