Samantapañcaka Narrative and the Measure of an Akṣauhiṇī

śāpād grāhatvam āpannā brāhmaṇasya tapasvinaḥ | prabhāsatīrthe pārthena kṛṣṇasya ca samāgamaḥ |

Cursed by an austere brāhmaṇa, they had fallen into the condition of crocodiles. Thereafter, at the sacred ford of Prabhāsa, there is the account of the meeting of Kṛṣṇa with Pārtha (Arjuna). The passage serves as a narrative bridge: it recalls the moral force of ascetic speech—a curse that binds—and highlights the countervailing power of righteous encounter and pilgrimage, through which burdens are lifted and alliances reaffirmed.
