Vaiśaṃpāyana said: Then King Drupada—born in the Somaka line and a man of great stature—again bestowed, separately upon each of the radiant Pandavas, abundant wealth, making Agni the witness; and likewise he offered costly garments and ornaments, endowed with marks of royal power and prestige.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights dharmic generosity performed transparently: gifts are given individually and sanctified with Agni as witness, emphasizing integrity, public accountability, and the ethical weight of royal giving.

In the context of the Pandavas’ alliance with Drupada, the king formally bestows abundant wealth, garments, and ornaments upon each Pandava, making the offering solemn and indisputable by invoking Agni as witness.
