Educational Q&A

The verse frames marriage as a dharmic and socially sanctioned act when it fulfills rightful intentions and is judged ‘sādhu’ (proper) by responsible guardians—highlighting the ethical dimension of consent, suitability, and auspicious alignment in royal alliances.

Dhṛṣṭadyumna declares to a Brāhmaṇa that King Drupada’s long-held aim will be realized through obtaining the princess (Draupadī), and he affirms that accepting her is fitting and commendable.
