Educational Q&A

Steady endurance and disciplined concentration (samāhita-citta) purify the mind and make one fit to receive dhārmic guidance; the arrival of a revered ṛṣi symbolizes that sincere effort invites higher counsel.

A king has undertaken a difficult twelve-night observance in focused composure; after this period, the pure-hearted sage Vasiṣṭha comes to meet him, setting the stage for instruction or resolution.
