Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
कृच्छाद् द्वादशरात्रे तु तस्य राज्ञ: समाहिते । आजगाम विशुद्धात्मा वसिष्ठो भगवानृषि:,राजाने क्लेश सहन करते हुए बारह राततक एकाग्रचित्त होकर ध्यान लगाया था। तब विशुद्ध अन्त:ः:करणवाले भगवान् वसिष्ठ मुनि राजाके पास आये थे
kṛcchād dvādaśarātre tu tasya rājñaḥ samāhite | ājagāma viśuddhātmā vasiṣṭho bhagavān ṛṣiḥ ||
After the king, enduring hardship, had remained collected and intent in concentrated observance for twelve nights, the blessed sage Vasiṣṭha—pure in inner being—came to him.
वसिष्ठ उवाच
Steady endurance and disciplined concentration (samāhita-citta) purify the mind and make one fit to receive dhārmic guidance; the arrival of a revered ṛṣi symbolizes that sincere effort invites higher counsel.
A king has undertaken a difficult twelve-night observance in focused composure; after this period, the pure-hearted sage Vasiṣṭha comes to meet him, setting the stage for instruction or resolution.
