तेन मां प्रेषितं विद्धि विश्वस्तं संज्ञयानया । भूयश्वैवाह मां क्षत्ता विदुर: सर्वतो<$र्थवित्,“इस संकेतसे आप यह जान लें कि “मैं विश्वास-पात्र हूँ और विदुरजीने ही मुझे भेजा है।' इसके सिवा, सर्वतोभावेन अर्थसिद्धिका ज्ञान रखनेवाले विदुरजीने पुनः मुझसे आपके लिये यह संदेश दिया कि “कुन्ती-नन्दन! तुम युद्धमें भाइयोंसहित दुर्योधन, कर्ण और शकुनिको अवश्य परास्त करोगे, इसमें संशय नहीं है
tena māṁ preṣitaṁ viddhi viśvastaṁ saṁjñayānayā | bhūyaś caivāha māṁ kṣattā viduraḥ sarvato'rthavit ||
“By this sign, know that I have been sent and that I am trustworthy. Moreover,” said Vidura, the chamberlain—one who understands what is beneficial in every respect—“he has again conveyed to me a message for you.” The verse frames the message as ethically reliable: it establishes the messenger’s credibility through a prearranged token and underscores Vidura’s role as a discerning counselor who speaks for the welfare of all.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Ethical communication depends on trust and verification: a prearranged sign authenticates the messenger, and Vidura’s authority rests on his reputation for discerning what is beneficial in all respects.
Vaiśampāyana reports that the speaker identifies himself as a reliable envoy by an agreed token and then introduces that Vidura, the royal chamberlain and wise counselor, has sent an additional message through him.
