Vaiśampāyana said: “Go there and have a four-winged house constructed—fully enclosed and strongly secured—situated near the outskirts of the city. Let it be built at great expense, made as splendid as possible.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the political-ethical tension in royal planning: power often expresses itself through controlled space—secure, enclosed architecture near the city—showing how protection and secrecy can be pursued through wealth and design.
An instruction is being given to go to a particular place and commission an expensive, well-guarded four-sided residence near the city outskirts—an architectural setup implying careful preparation and controlled access.
