Hiḍimba’s Approach and Hiḍimbā’s Warning to Bhīmasena (हिडिम्बागमनम् / हिडिम्बा-भयवचनम्)
अथाजगाम पूर्व तु स्नात्वा व्याप्रो महाबल: । ददर्श जम्बुकं॑ चैव चिन्ताकुलितमानसम्,इतनेमें ही महाबली बाघ स्नान करके सबसे पहले वहाँ लौट आया। आनेपर उसने देखा, गीदड़का चित्त चिन्तासे व्याकुल हो रहा है
athājagāma pūrva tu snātvā vyāghro mahābalaḥ | dadarśa jambukaṃ caiva cintākulita-mānasam ||
Just then, the mighty tiger returned first after bathing. On arriving, he saw the jackal as well—his mind agitated and overwhelmed by anxious thoughts.
जम्बुक उवाच
An anxious, agitated mind often reveals concealed motives; inner disorder becomes a sign of ethical fault or fear of exposure, warning that deception carries psychological consequences.
After bathing, the powerful tiger returns before the others and notices the jackal in a visibly worried, unsettled state, setting up suspicion and the next turn in their interaction.
