Educational Q&A

The verse underscores that extraordinary capacities can be understood as divinely sanctioned gifts, meant to serve a larger dharmic purpose; Bhīma’s strength is presented not as mere power, but as a destined endowment within a righteous lineage.

Vaiśampāyana continues the account of the Pāṇḍavas’ births, stating that the Wind-god Mātariśvan granted the king a son named Bhīma, renowned as the foremost among the strong.
