मुहूर्तोदित आदित्ये सर्वे बालपुरस्कृता: । सदारास्तापसान द्रष्टं निर्ययु: पुरवासिन:,दो घड़ी दिन चढ़ते-चढ़ते समस्त पुरवासी स्त्रियों और बालकोंको साथ लिये तपस्वी मुनियोंका दर्शन करनेके लिये नगरसे बाहर निकल आये
muhūrtodite āditye sarve bālapuraskṛtāḥ | sadārās tāpasān draṣṭuṃ niryayuḥ puravāsinaḥ ||
When the sun had risen for a short while, all the townspeople—bringing their children to the fore and accompanied by their wives—went out of the city to behold the ascetic sages.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
A community grounded in dharma shows respect to those who live by austerity and wisdom; seeking the sight and counsel of sages is portrayed as an auspicious, ethically elevating act for householders and society.
After the sun has risen a little, the residents of the city—women and children included—leave the city together to go and see the ascetic sages, indicating a public, collective act of reverence and welcome.
