Shloka 4

इदं तु मे महद्‌ दुःखं तुल्यतायामपुत्रता । दिष्ट्या व्विदानीं भर्तुर्मे कुन्त्यामप्यस्ति संतति:,'परंतु इस बातका मेरे मनमें बहुत दुःख है कि मैं और कुन्तीदेवी दोनों समानरूपसे आपकी पत6ििनियाँ हैं, तो भी उन्हें तो पुत्र हुआ और मैं संतानहीन ही रह गयी। यह सौभाग्यकी बात है कि इस समय मेरे प्राणनाथको कुन्तीके गर्भसे पुत्रकी प्राप्ति हो गयी है

idaṃ tu me mahad duḥkhaṃ tulyatāyām aputratā | diṣṭyā tv idānīṃ bhartur me kuntyām apy asti santatiḥ ||

“Yet this is a great sorrow for me: though Kuntī and I are equal in status as your wives, she has borne a son while I remain without offspring. Still, it is a blessing that now my lord has obtained progeny through Kuntī.”
