Āstravidyā-Pradarśana: The Kuru Princes’ Public Demonstration of Arms (आस्त्रविद्या-प्रदर्शनम्)
nakulaṃ sahadevaṃ ca rūpeṇāpratimau bhuvi | tathaiva tāv api yamau vāg uvācāśarīriṇī ||
Vaiśampāyana said: “And (she bore) Nakula and Sahadeva—both incomparable in beauty upon the earth. Concerning those twin-born sons as well, just as before, a bodiless voice proclaimed (their significance).”
The verse highlights how extraordinary qualities and destinies are sometimes affirmed by divine signs (the bodiless voice), suggesting that virtue, lineage, and purpose are not merely social facts but part of a larger moral-cosmic order.
The narrator announces the birth/identification of the twin brothers Nakula and Sahadeva, praising their unmatched beauty, and notes that—just as earlier—an incorporeal heavenly voice speaks about these twins as well, marking them as significant.
