Ādi Parva 117 — Pāṇḍu’s Obsequies, Escort of the Pāṇḍavas, and Reception at Nāgasāhvaya
Hastināpura
इति श्रीमहा भारते आदिपर्वणि सम्भवपर्वणि धृतराष्ट्रपुत्रनामकथने षोडशाधिकशततमोड<ध्याय:
iti śrīmahābhārate ādiparvaṇi sambhavaparvaṇi dhṛtarāṣṭraputranāmakathane ṣoḍaśādhikaśatatamo 'dhyāyaḥ
Thus ends, in the Śrī Mahābhārata, within the Ādi Parva and specifically the Sambhava Parva, the chapter entitled “The narration of the names of Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s sons”—the one hundred and sixteenth chapter. This colophon marks the completion of a unit of teaching: careful naming and the recording of lineage, set forth as a moral and historical frame for the conflicts to come.
