Seeing him, Vyāsa was struck with wonder. With palms joined in reverence, he bowed and stood respectfully. Then, composed and attentive, and surrounded by the assembled sages, he arranged a seat for Brahmā—an act of due honor to the highest guest and spiritual authority.
The verse models dharmic conduct: humility before higher spiritual authority and proper hospitality (satkāra) through respectful gestures and offering an honored seat.
Vyāsa sees Brahmā, becomes astonished, offers reverence with joined palms and a bow, stands respectfully, and then arranges a seat for Brahmā while accompanied by an assembly of sages.
