अनुक्रमणिकाध्यायः (Anukramaṇikā Adhyāya) — Invocation, Narrator Frame, and Textual Scope

युगस्यादौ निमित्तं तन्‍्महद्दिव्यं प्रचक्षते । यस्मिन्‌ संश्रूयते सत्यं ज्योतिर्त्रह्या सनातनम्‌,ब्रह्मकल्पके आदिमें उसी महान्‌ एवं दिव्य अण्डको चार प्रकारके प्राणिसमुदायका कारण कहा जाता है। जिसमें सत्यस्वरूप ज्योतिर्मय सनातन ब्रह्म अन्तर्यामीरूपसे प्रविष्ट हुआ है, ऐसा श्रुति वर्णन करती हैः

yugasyādau nimittaṃ tan mahad divyaṃ pracakṣate | yasmin saṃśrūyate satyaṃ jyotir brahma sanātanam |

At the beginning of the age, the tradition declares that great and divine entity to be the originating cause. Within it, the eternal Brahman—luminous and identical with Truth—is said by the Veda to be present (as the indwelling reality).
