Adhyaya 70: आदिसर्गः—महत्-अहङ्कार-तन्मात्रा-भूतसृष्टिः, ब्रह्माण्डावरणम्, प्रजासर्गः, त्रिमूर्ति-शैवाधिष्ठानम्
अधिष्ठिता सा हि महेश्वरेण प्रवर्तते चोद्यमने समन्तात् अनुप्रवृत्तस्तु महांस्तदेनां चिरस्थिरत्वाद् विषयं श्रियः स्वयम्
adhiṣṭhitā sā hi maheśvareṇa pravartate codyamane samantāt anupravṛttastu mahāṃstadenāṃ cirasthiratvād viṣayaṃ śriyaḥ svayam
For she—Śrī (prosperity)—is truly governed by Mahādeva; when impelled by Him, she moves everywhere in every direction. And the great one, acting in accordance with Him, becomes by that long-enduring stability itself the proper abode of Śrī.
Suta Goswami (narrating the Linga Purana to the sages at Naimisharanya)
It frames Śrī (auspicious prosperity) as Śiva-adhīnā—operating under Mahādeva’s lordship; thus Linga-worship is presented as aligning the devotee (paśu) with Pati’s governance so that auspiciousness becomes stable rather than fleeting.
Śiva-tattva is shown as Īśvara/Pati: the supreme regulator who impels and directs cosmic functions (including prosperity), indicating that grace (anugraha) and order are not random but arise from His sovereign will.
The verse emphasizes cira-sthiratva—long steadiness—suggesting Pāśupata-style discipline (niyama, dhāraṇā, unwavering devotion to the Linga) as the means by which Śrī becomes established in one’s life through Śiva’s anugraha.
