तपत्येष द्विजश्रेष्ठास् त्रैलोक्यं सचराचरम् स एष तेजसां राशिः समस्तः सार्वलौकिकः
tapatyeṣa dvijaśreṣṭhās trailokyaṃ sacarācaram sa eṣa tejasāṃ rāśiḥ samastaḥ sārvalaukikaḥ
O best of the twice-born, this supreme Radiance scorches the three worlds, with all that moves and does not move. This indeed is the total mass of splendors—complete, transcending all worldly measure.
Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages at Naimisharanya, describing the overwhelming tejas identified with Shiva/Linga-tattva)
It frames the Linga as the overwhelming, world-transcending tejas of Shiva—worship is thus directed to Pati (the Lord) who exceeds all finite forms yet pervades all beings.
Shiva is indicated as the total ‘rāśi’ of tejas: not a limited deity among others, but the supra-worldly ground of all cosmic energies, before whom the three worlds appear as contained and outshone.
A contemplative focus (dhyāna) on Shiva’s tejas—visualizing the Linga as boundless radiance—supports Pashupata-oriented inner worship, loosening pasha (bondage) for the pashu (soul).
