Shloka 29

युगधर्मवर्णनम् — चतुर्युग, गुण, धर्मपाद, तथा वार्तोत्पत्ति

हृष्टपुष्टास्तया सिद्ध्या प्रजा वै विगतज्वराः ततः कालान्तरेणैव पुनर्लोभावृतास्तु ताः

hṛṣṭapuṣṭāstayā siddhyā prajā vai vigatajvarāḥ tataḥ kālāntareṇaiva punarlobhāvṛtāstu tāḥ

By that accomplishment (siddhi) the beings became joyful and well-nourished, and the people were free from feverish affliction. Yet, after the passage of time, those very souls were again covered over by greed—returning to bondage (pāśa) and forgetting the Lord (Pati).
