krodhākāraḥ prasannātmā kāmadaḥ kāmagaḥ priyaḥ brahmacāri cāgādhaś ca brahmaṇyaḥ śiṣṭapūjitaḥ
His form can be wrath itself, yet His inner Self is ever serene; the giver of rightful desires, moving freely as desire’s very power—the Beloved. He is the divine brahmacārin, unfathomable and immeasurable, devoted to the sacred (Brahman and the Brahmanas), and worshipped by the disciplined and the cultured.
Suta Goswami (narrating a Shiva Sahasranama within the Linga Purana discourse)
