FAQs

This verse highlights that true evaluation comes from śāstra-guided wisdom: the learned, whose intellect is refined by scripture, recognize and praise what is genuinely auspicious and valuable.

Indirectly, it points to śāstra as the reliable guide—suggesting that spiritual discernment (needed for the soul’s welfare) arises from scriptural understanding rather than mere opinion.

Cultivate discernment through authentic texts and teachers; value what is truly beneficial (dharma, purity, right conduct) rather than what is merely attractive or popular.
