Śiva’s Narasiṃha-Stotra and the Pacification of the Mātṛgaṇas
नारसिंहमिदं स्तोत्रं यः पठेन्नियतेन्द्रियः / मनोरथप्रदस्तस्य रुद्रस्येव न संशयः
nārasiṃhamidaṃ stotraṃ yaḥ paṭhenniyatendriyaḥ / manorathapradastasya rudrasyeva na saṃśayaḥ
Whoever recites this Narasiṁha hymn with disciplined senses—there is no doubt—will have his desired aims granted, just as Rudra (Śiva) grants them.
Lord Vishnu (teaching Garuda/Vinata-putra)
Concept: Niyata-indriya (sense-discipline) makes stotra effective; Narasiṁha-stotra grants iṣṭa (desired aims) with certainty.
Vedantic Theme: Grace (anugraha) accessed through upāsanā; the mind’s purification aligns the individual will with īśvara-śakti.
Application: Establish a daily recitation vow: fixed time, clean setting, controlled senses (reduced distractions), and clear intention (saṅkalpa).
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta

This verse links the fruit of the Narasiṃha stotra to disciplined senses, implying that restraint and focused conduct make the recitation spiritually effective and goal-granting.
It states that the hymn becomes “manoratha-prada”—a giver of desired aims—assuring success without doubt for the sincere, self-controlled reciter.
Recite the stotra regularly with ethical restraint, attention, and simplicity of life; treat discipline as part of the practice, not separate from it.
