Nīlakaṇṭha-nāmotpatti-kathana
Origin of the Epithet “Nīlakaṇṭha”
पिनाकपाणिर्भगवान्सुरपूज्यस्त्रिशूलधृक् / व्यालय ज्ञोपवीती च सुराणामभयङ्करः
pinākapāṇirbhagavānsurapūjyastriśūladhṛk / vyālaya jñopavītī ca surāṇāmabhayaṅkaraḥ
Bhagavan, holding the Pinaka bow, worshiped by the gods and bearing the trident; wearing a serpent as the sacred thread, he grants the devas fearlessness.
