इच्छाद्वेषविहीनेन सर्वत्र समचेतसा । भगवद्भक्तियुक्तेन प्राप्ता भागवती गति: ॥ ४७ ॥
icchā-dveṣa-vihīnena sarvatra sama-cetasā bhagavad-bhakti-yuktena prāptā bhāgavatī gatiḥ
Freed from desire and hatred, equal-minded everywhere, and engaged in pure devotion to Bhagavān, Kardama Muni ultimately attained bhāgavatī gati—the path of returning to the Lord’s abode.
As stated in Bhagavad-gītā, only by devotional service can one understand the transcendental nature of the Supreme Lord and, after understanding Him perfectly in His transcendental position, enter into the kingdom of God. The process of entering into the kingdom of God is tri-pāda-bhūti-gati, or the path back home, back to Godhead, by which one can attain the ultimate goal of life. Kardama Muni, by his perfect devotional knowledge and service, achieved this ultimate goal, which is known as bhāgavatī gatiḥ.
Lord Kapila says a true devotee is free from selfish desire and hatred, is equal-minded toward all beings, and is firmly engaged in devotion to Bhagavān.
Kapila instructs His mother Devahūti on sāṅkhya and bhakti, emphasizing the inner qualities that mature devotion and lead to the devotee’s supreme destination.
Cultivate equanimity by reducing self-centered expectations, avoiding resentment, and anchoring the mind in steady devotional service—so reactions soften and bhakti becomes constant.
